Our firm is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Kingsgrove, NSW, this role is essential to maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of our organisation. As Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing daily financial transactions, reconciliations, and record-keeping activities that form the foundation of our accounting operations. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our finance team and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
Recording financial transactions accurately in the accounting system, including invoices, receipts, and payments
Reconciling bank statements, credit card statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
Preparing and processing accounts payable and accounts receivable documentation
Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review
Maintaining organized filing systems for financial documents and ensuring proper documentation retention
Performing data entry and updating financial records in accounting software
Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal departments regarding financial matters
Assisting senior accounting staff with ad-hoc tasks as required
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in an accounts clerk role within an accounting or finance department
Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, general ledger management, and basic accounting practices
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and rectify errors
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
High level of numerical accuracy and competency in financial calculations
Skilled communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
A commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining consistent quality of work
Relevant accounting qualifications (such as bookkeeping certificates or accounting diplomas) are advantageous
