Principal Consultant - DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineering

n

Location: Sydney (Hybrid)
n Contract: 6-month contract with strong likelihood of extension

n

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in Windows Server and VMware vSphere administration to join our Sydney-based infrastructure team. This role is suited to someone who enjoys hands‐on engineering, automation, and producing detailed technical designs for enterprise compute and storage platforms.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Administer and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
n
- Manage and maintain VMware vSphere infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter, clusters)
n
- Design and document low‐level compute and storage architectures for server platforms
n
- Perform server provisioning, lifecycle management, and capacity planning
n
- Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell (advanced scripting)
n
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, storage, and virtualisation layers
n
- Collaborate with architecture, network, and security teams on infrastructure initiatives
n
- Contribute to infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and optimisation projects
n

Key Skills & Experience

n

n




- Strong hands‐on experience as a Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer
n
- Deep expertise in Windows Server administration
n
- Proven experience managing VMware vSphere environments at scale
n
- Advanced PowerShell scripting skills (automation, reporting, configuration)
n
- Demonstrated experience producing low‐level design (LLD) documentation for compute and storage
n
- Solid understanding of enterprise storage concepts (SAN, NAS, RAID, performance considerations)
n
- Experience in enterprise or large‐scale environments preferred
n
