THE INDIAN GROCER BOX HILL PTY LTD About the Role Exotic Grocer Box Hill is seeking two experienced and motivated Retail Managers to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of our specialty grocery store. The successful candidates will play an important role in managing store operations, stock and purchasing, merchandising, sales, customer service, staff performance and financial controls.

This is a hands-on management position requiring strong retail knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to maintain efficient operations in a busy grocery retail environment. Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the grocery store. Plan and maintain appropriate product ranges, product mix and stock levels.

Coordinate purchasing of grocery, fresh, frozen, packaged and specialty food products. Liaise with suppliers, wholesalers and distributors regarding orders, pricing, availability and deliveries. Monitor inventory and organise timely stock replenishment.

Inspect incoming goods and ensure appropriate receiving, storage and stock rotation. Monitor product quality, expiry dates and storage requirements. Organise and maintain effective product displays and merchandising.

Assist with pricing decisions, promotional pricing and special offers. Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue. Develop and implement promotional and customer engagement activities.

Provide high-quality customer service and resolve customer enquiries and complaints.



Monitor daily sales, cash handling and financial transactions. Maintain appropriate sales, stock and financial records.

Assist with budgeting and monitoring operating expenses. Analyse sales and inventory information to support business decisions. Recruit, induct, train, roster and supervise retail employees.

Allocate duties and monitor staff performance and productivity. Maintain appropriate staffing levels during normal and peak trading periods. Establish and implement effective store operating procedures.

Ensure staff comply with company policies and procedures. Maintain workplace health and safety standards. Ensure grocery products are handled, stored and displayed appropriately.

Maintain a clean, safe and well-presented store environment. Coordinate opening and closing procedures and store security requirements. Monitor customer demand and recommend new products and product ranges.

Identify operational issues and implement improvements to store efficiency. Maintain productive relationships with suppliers, customers and employees. Assist the business owner/director with operational planning and continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience 1–3 years' relevant experience in retail management, grocery,



supermarket or specialty food retail. Relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded. Strong knowledge of retail operations, stock control, purchasing and merchandising.

Experience supervising and coordinating retail staff. Strong customer service and communication skills. Experience dealing with suppliers and managing purchasing arrangements.

Understanding of sales, pricing, budgeting and financial controls. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyse sales and inventory information.

Ability to work independently and take responsibility for store operations. Strong understanding of workplace health and safety and retail operating procedures. What

We Offer Full-time, ongoing employment. Salary of $80,000–$90,000 per annum + superannuation, depending on skills and experience. A management role with responsibility for the overall retail operation.
