Job Description
Your new company Join a well-established financial services organisation with a strong governance and compliance framework. As part of a collaborative finance function, you will play a key role in supporting a critical annual external audit process, working closely with stakeholders across finance, operations, claims and premium administration teams. This is a six-month fixed-term opportunity based in Sydney with flexible working arrangements and an immediate start available.

Your new role
n
n
- Act as the primary point of coordination between external auditors and internal business stakeholders during the annual audit process.
n
- Manage and track audit sample requests across premium and claims transactions, ensuring documentation is gathered accurately and within agreed deadlines.
n
- Liaise with Finance, Claims, Customer Service and other operational teams to obtain supporting information and resolve outstanding audit requests.
n
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and provide supporting evidence for audit testing.
n
- Investigate exceptions, unusual transactions and reconciling items, following through until satisfactory resolution is achieved.
n
- Maintain audit trackers and provide regular status updates on outstanding requests and key deliverables.
n
- Escalate delays, risks or roadblocks where required to support successful audit completion.
n
- Provide administrative support for governance and board-related activities throughout the audit cycle.
n
- Support post-audit reviews and contribute to process improvements that enhance future audit readiness.

What you'll need to succeed
n
n
- CA/CPA qualification or equivalent.
n
- Approximately 3-4 years' experience within financial accounting, financial reporting, audit or a related discipline.
n
- Experience preparing financial statements and supporting external audit engagements.
n
- Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, controls and audit requirements.
n
- Exposure to financial services, insurance or other regulated industries will be highly regarded.
n
- Confidence working directly with auditors and managing relationships with stakeholders across multiple business functions.
n
- Ability to influence and obtain information from teams where competing priorities or resistance may exist.
n
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Advanced Excel and document management capabilities.
n
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
n
- Resilient, proactive and committed to achieving outcomes, with a strong attention to detail and follow-through.
