Job Description
Your new company Exciting opportunity to work with a large state government department, located in East Perth.
n
Your new role Leads the development and coordination of road investment planning processes
n
Oversees budget submission and portfolio investment processes, including supporting systems, data collection, document review, stakeholder input and programme records.
n
Leads the application and maintenance of investment prioritisation methods, including quality assurance of portfolio inputs, scoring assumptions and priority recommendations.
n
Reviews and quality-assures transport business cases, funding submissions, project proposal reports, annual infrastructure planning inputs and Strategic Asset Plan inputs.
n
Coordinates the consolidated deliverables schedule and manages risks against fixed government deadlines.
n
Provides technical direction to Infrastructure Investment Planning Officers and supports planning practice across portfolios.
n
Develops and improves workflows, templates and processes for Portfolio Investment Planning.
n
Prepares and reviews investment programme advice, prioritisation outcomes and funding recommendations Reviews and consolidates portfolio information to support budget submissions, committee papers, executive briefings and internal reporting.
n
Monitors progress against key deliverables and escalates portfolio risks, issues and decisions to the Manager.
n
Ensures investment records, assumptions and recommendations are accurate, consistent and suitable for committee and audit scrutiny.
n
Leads day-to-day coordination with assigned portfolio teams and internal stakeholders on investment planning, prioritisation and funding submissions.
n
Provides guidance to Infrastructure Investment Planning Officers on stakeholder engagement, investment inputs and issue resolution.
n
Supports the Manager in engagement with cross-agency stakeholders.
n
Prepares and presents investment planning materials where required.
n
Participates in relevant committees, working groups and forums related to infrastructure investment planning.

What you'll need to succeed
n
n
- Infrastructure or transport planning experience - experience within roads, transport, asset management, capital works, infrastructure delivery, or public sector investment planning.
n
- Government budget and funding submission experience - with an understanding of how investment proposals, budget bids, funding requests, business cases or Treasury-style submissions are developed and reviewed.
n
- Experience with business case and project proposal review
n
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
n
- Excellent written communication skills - ability to prepare executive briefings, committee papers, funding recommendations, internal reports and explicit advice for senior stakeholders.
n
- Governance, risk and assurance knowledge - understanding of audit-ready records, decision-making processes, risk escalation, compliance and quality assurance requirements.
n
- The ability to coordinate input from stakeholders.
n
- Project coordination and deadline management - experience managing deliverable schedules, tracking actions, coordinating multiple inputs and working to fixed government deadlines.
n
- Strong attention to detail, particularly around assumptions, scoring, funding recommendations, committee papers and records that may be reviewed or audited.
n
