Job Description
Sports Coaches – Middle and Senior School
n
St Hilda's School, Gold Coast invites applications for the following Sports Coach opportunities:
n
n
- Volleyball
n
- Badminton
n
n
Training Requirements
n
n
- All positions typically involve up to 2 training sessions per week (before or after school).
n
n
Competition Requirements
n
n
- Volleyball coaching – includes competition days on Saturday during Term 3 (18 July – 19 September 2026).
n
- Athletics Throws Specialist – no Saturday competitions, however the QGSSSA Athletics Championship event will be held on the final day of Term 3 (17 September 2026).
n
- Badminton coaching – no Saturday competitions during Term 3, however the competition is held on the first two Saturdays of Term 4 (10 October & 17 October 2026).
n

About the Position
n
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
n
n
- Design and deliver high‐quality coaching sessions that cater to varying skill levels and abilities.
n
- Develop age‐appropriate training programs that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
n
- Mentor and motivate students to achieve their personal best both on and off the field.
n
- Coordinate and attend sporting fixtures, carnivals, and competitions.
n
- Foster a positive, inclusive sporting culture that encourages participation and celebrates effort.
n
- Collaborate with Director of Sport, Assistant Director of Sport, Sports Administrators and other coaches to support the school's broader sporting program.
n
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students during training and competition.
n
n
About You
n
n
- Relevant coaching qualifications (preferred) in the sport you are applying for and at least 3 years' coaching experience.
n
- Strong understanding of skill progression and age‐appropriate training methods.
n
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
n
- Commitment to promoting confidence, resilience, and leadership through sport.
n
- Understanding of the unique considerations in coaching girls and young women.
n
- Enthusiasm for creating an inclusive environment where all students feel valued.
n
- Genuine passion for coaching and motivating young women.
n
- High professional and ethical standards.
n
- Team-oriented team player who contributes to school community.
n
n
