About the Role

n

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Technical Production Operator to join our client's manufacturing and assembly team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on technical environment and has a passion for electro-mechanical devices, precision hardware, and advanced instrumentation.

n

You will play a key role in building cutting-edge scientific and imaging instruments, performing delicate repairs, supporting testing and development activities, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Assemble electronic, mechanical, and optical components into precision sub-assemblies and modules.
n
- Build and integrate complete instrument systems to established specifications.
n
- Perform functional testing using diagnostic equipment to verify performance and identify faults.
n
- Program and calibrate electronic circuit boards and systems using documented procedures.
n
- Troubleshoot, rework, repair, service, and recalibrate electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
n
- Inspect components and finished assemblies to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, quality,



and performance standards.
n
- Maintain accurate service records, test results, calibration documentation, and repair reports.
n
- Support the development of new products and continuous improvement of existing designs and processes.
n
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
n
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
n

Essential Requirements

n

Qualifications

n

n
- Certificate, Diploma, Apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
n

n

Technical Skills

n

n
- Proven experience with precision soldering of both through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) components.
n
- Experience programming or uploading firmware to microcontrollers.
n
- Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronic circuits, components, and signal flow.
n
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, PCB layouts, and technical drawings.
n
- Proficiency in the use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, soldering stations, and other diagnostic equipment.
n
- Knowledge of ESD-safe handling procedures and best practices.
n

Software Skills

n

n




- Experience working with microcontroller programming tools.
n
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
n
- Exposure to Python or similar software tools will be highly regarded.
n

- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or quality-controlled environment.
n
- Familiarity with calibration, validation, and verification processes.

This position is well suited to an Electronics Technician, Instrumentation Technician, Mechatronics Technician, Production Test Technician, Service Technician, or similar hands-on technical skilled who enjoys precision assembly, troubleshooting, and building sophisticated electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
