Position Information Chester Hill North Public School enrolment approximately 420 students, including 87% from a language background other than English is a diverse and inclusive school with a strong sense of community. A dedicated staff, comprising early career and experienced teachers, works collaboratively with students, families and the wider community to strengthen student wellbeing, engagement and academic outcomes. The school has a strong focus on evidence-informed teaching, differentiated learning and building teacher and leadership capability to improve outcomes for all students. Our established partnership with Real Schools supports a consistent, restorative approach to student wellbeing, behaviour and relationships across the school.Chester Hill North Public School is situated on a large, attractive site with upgraded learning spaces, a staff centre, outdoor learning areas and an established Community Hub that strengthens connections between families, the school and community services. The school currently has 20 classes, including 17 mainstream classes and three Autism Support classes within our Inclusive Education Unit. The school is also a base for an Itinerant Hearing Unit.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Strength and vision in leading improvement,
innovation and change through the implementation of evidence based informed teaching practice.
2. Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to genuinely engage, maintain, and support existing strong partnerships with students, staff, parents, and community networks with sensitivity to the school’s culturally diverse community.
3. Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based practices, passion, and empathy to support students with complex learning and wellbeing needs working alongside staff and families.
General Selection Criteria
1 . High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2 . Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3 . High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4 . Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5 . Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6 . Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the current structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis.The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P3 for 2026.
