Building Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities
n
n
- Delivering general building maintenance including carpentry, patching, painting and minor repairs
n
- Maintaining doors, hardware, ceilings, partitions and building finishes
n
- Assisting with minor trade works within your competency
n
- Coordinating with specialist contractors for complex or licensed works
n
- Responding to urgent maintenance issues impacting hospital operations
n
- Completing building fabric inspections and asset lifecycle replacement tasks
n
- Supporting planned maintenance programs and compliance activities
n
- Liaising with hospital staff to minimise disruption during works
n
- Ensuring all work complies with infection control and WHS requirements
n
n
Qualifications
n
n
- Experience in building maintenance, handyperson or multi‐trade roles
n
- Skills across basic carpentry, plastering, painting, tiling, minor repairs and general building upkeep
n
- Experience in complex facilities — hospital or clinical environments highly regarded
n
- Strong problem‐solving skills and the ability to work autonomously
n
- Ability to work safely in a highly regulated environment
n
- Strong communication and customer service skills
n
- Valid driver's licence, White Card and ability to obtain relevant clearances
n
n
Desirable skills/licences
n
n
- EWP / High Risk Boom
n
- Basic plumbing or electrical knowledge
n
- Experience with minor fit-outs, de-fits or small works
n
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights and in plant rooms
n
n
