Payroll Tester

CloudMarc is a specialist technology consultancy delivering Quality Engineering, Testing, Data, DevOps, and cloud transformation capability across major enterprise clients across Australia. We are currently partnering with a leading organisation in Brisbane and seeking an experienced Payroll Tester to support a large-scale payroll transformation program.

The Opportunity

n

As a Payroll Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy across complex award structures, EBAs, and legislative requirements. You will work closely with payroll SMEs, functional consultants, and project teams to validate payroll calculations, processes, and end-to-end results.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Execute end-to-end payroll testing across multiple pay groups
n
- Validate awards, EBAs, penalties, loadings, allowances, deductions, overtime, and leave rules
n
- Support parallel payroll testing and reconciliation
n
- Validate pay results, reports, and data outputs
n
- Ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation (PAYG, ATO, superannuation, LSL)
n
- Perform test case creation, test execution, and defect management
n
- Work across SIT, UAT, and regression cycles
n
- Collaborate with payroll SMEs, HR, finance, vendors, and technical teams
n
- Provide clear documentation and test evidence for audit/compliance
n

What We're Looking For

n

Mandatory Experience

n

n
- 3–10+ years experience as a Payroll Tester in enterprise environments
n
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, EBAs, and compliance
n
- Hands‐on experience with one or more payroll systems:n n
- SAP ECC / SAP ECP
n
- SAP HCM
n
- Workday Payroll
n

n
- Demonstrated experience in parallel payroll testing
n
- Strong experience in SIT, UAT, and regression testing
n
- Ability to interpret pay results and reconcile complex calculations
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n

n

Nice to Have

n

n
- Exposure to HRIS or Time & Attendance systems
n
- Experience in large transformation or payroll migration programs
n
- Prior consultancy experience
n

n
