The Role

We are looking for an experienced Retail Store Manager to lead our Brisbane Outlet store at DFO Brisbane Airport.

As Store Manager, you will play a key role in creating a positive and high-performing store environment where team members feel supported, valued and empowered to succeed. You'll build strong relationships, understand the strengths and development needs of your people, and adapt your leadership approach to help each individual reach their potential. You will take ownership of the overall performance of the Brisbane Outlet store, with a solid focus on people leadership, customer experience, commercial performance and operational excellence.

Lead, Coach, Develop the Team

- Lead and inspire a high-performing team, creating a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

- Build strong relationships with team members, understanding individual strengths, goals and development needs.

- Set clear expectations around performance, behaviours, customer experience and team contribution.

- Provide regular coaching, feedback and recognition to build capability, confidence and performance.





- Identify and develop emerging talent, creating opportunities for team members to grow and take on greater responsibility.

- Communicate business priorities and performance expectations clearly, connecting the team's day-to-day work to the broader goals of the business.

- Manage performance and behavioural concerns proactively, with a focus on explicit communication, accountability and improvement.

- Lead by example, modelling the behaviours, standards and customer experience expected from the team.

Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience

- Create a store environment where customers receive knowledgeable, personalised and exceptional service.

- Lead the team to understand our products, our customers and the Brooks brand.

- Coach the team to confidently identify customer needs and provide the right product solution.

- Build strong and lasting relationships with customers.

- Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities to continually improve the customer experience.

Drive Commercial Performance

- Take ownership of achieving and exceeding store sales targets.

- Understand store KPIs and use data to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.

- Monitor conversion, average transaction value, units per transaction and other key performance indicators.

- Monitor sell-through and identify opportunities to maximise sales and minimise aged stock.

- Communicate commercial priorities to the team and create clear actions to deliver results.

- Complete weekly reporting and provide meaningful insights into store performance.

Run the Store

- Manage staff rosters to ensure the store is appropriately resourced.

- Maintain high standards of store organisation and presentation.

- Deliver visual merchandising standards in line with Brooks and marketing guidelines.

- Manage stock control, stocktakes, and shrinkage.

- Ensure accurate banking and administrative processes.

- Complete opening and closing procedures.

- Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming store environment.

- Work collaboratively with Marketing, Logistics, Operations, and the National Retail Manager.

Protect Our People and Our Business





- Maintain a safe workplace in line with Australian OHS/WHS requirements.

- Complete monthly OHS checks and follow up on identified actions.

- Ensure company policies, procedures and operational standards are understood and followed.

- Take ownership of identifying and managing risks within the store.

- Promote a culture where safety, respect and accountability are everyone's responsibility.

About You

We are looking for an experienced retail leader who is passionate about people, performance, and customer experience.

You will ideally have:

- Minimum 2 years' successful retail management experience.

- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing a team.

- A genuine passion for people development and building team capability.

- A leadership style that is supportive, approachable and empowering while maintaining clear accountability.

- Solid emotional intelligence and the ability to adapt your leadership approach to different individuals and situations.

- A proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.

- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of retail KPIs.

- Experience managing high volumes of stock.

- Solid communication and relationship-building skills.

- A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in all aspects of the store.

- Visual merchandising experience.

- Strong organisational and time-management skills.

- Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency.

- Outlook proficiency.

- Availability to work weekends as required.

*Experience within sporting or performance retail will be highly regarded.
