Are you a high-calibre strategy professional, who is looking to leverage your expertise in transformative and nation-shaping projects? Our client is seeking a driven and insightful Senior Manager, to play a pivotal role in the launch of several landmark infrastructure projects across Australia.

Reporting directly to the Head of Group Strategic Projects, this executive-level role offers an unparalleled opportunity to lead high-impact, analytical projects, addressing the most pressing strategic and transformation opportunities within their infrastructure programs.

n

Key Accountabilities include:

n

n
- Lead and Deliver Complex Strategies: Spearhead project teams to develop robust strategy designs, providing clear direction and rigorously pressure-testing results.
n
- Drive Innovation: Foster innovative thinking and advanced modelling techniques to solve intricate challenges.
n
- Optimize Performance: Lead reviews of process and performance optimisation across Operations, Customer, and Commercial functions.
n
- Identify Opportunities and Threats: Design and lead comprehensive industry, market, and competitor analyses to uncover key business opportunities and potential risks.
n
- Provide Financial Rigour: Oversee detailed financial and economic analysis, providing clear recommendations on the viability of strategic options.
n
- Exercise Independence and Influence: Work autonomously on sensitive projects, requiring minimal management input, while effectively partnering with senior management to shape strategic initiatives.
n
- Communicate with Impact: Oversee the development of high-quality analysis and documentation tailored for senior management.
n
- Maintain Group Perspective: Apply a strong understanding of the Group strategic objectives and business drivers while engaging with the specific details of project areas.
n
- Develop Actionable Insights: Apply critical thinking to diverse data sources to distill key insights that drive project outcomes and recommendations.
n
- Solve Complex Problems: Develop and evaluate strategic options using effective problem-solving methodologies, proactively identifying and resolving key issues.
n
- Champion Group Objectives: Ensure individual projects align with overarching Group objectives.
n
- Drive Transformative Initiatives: Lead the innovation evaluation and business case development for several significant infrastructure projects, aligning with Group strategic programs. Identify and champion opportunities for process, system, and people engagement improvements.
n
- Manage Financial Outcomes:



Oversee budgets and forecasting processes in collaboration with Finance teams.
n
- Ensure Commercial Viability: Evaluate commercial and contractual requirements.
n
- Craft Executive-Level Communications: Produce clear, concise, and insightful analytical reports suitable for presentation to the Board, CEO, GLT, and other senior leaders.
n
- Influence Key Stakeholders: Present analysis in a compelling manner to facilitate informed decision-making on significant strategic projects.
n
- Build Strong Relationships: Cultivate excellent working relationships across all levels and business units across the Group, as well as with external contacts.
n
- Provide Thought Leadership: Gather external intelligence on relevant strategies and infrastructure industry trends, developing frameworks to assess their impact and opportunities.
n
- Foster Team Excellence: Provide leadership and strategic direction to the team, fostering a culture of success through clear performance targets and effective team dynamics. Drive performance management, coaching, and mentorship within the team.

Your Expertise:

n

n
- Proven track record of success working for a global strategy consulting house + inhouse commercial strategy experience for a large Corporate.
n
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights.
n
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing project teams to deliver high-impact results.
n
- Strong financial literacy and experience in developing and evaluating business cases.
n
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
n
- Ability to work independently on highly sensitive projects with minimal direction.
n
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset with a passion for driving strategic change.
n
- Experience in infrastructure, oil & gas or transport sectors is highly desirable.
