Calamity Monitoring
New South Wales
Job Description
Company Description
n
Calamity is a up-to-date security company and provides security for thousands of customers and over $2bn in assets. We design and install new security systems as well as provide alarm monitoring and verification for existing security systems. We operate a world class 24/7 monitoring facility providing round-the-clock supervision of alarm systems, CCTV systems, life safety, environmental management and incident response services.
n
We are an ethical company with an unblemished reputation in the security industry.
n
Role Description
n
We are seeking a senior security technician who knows their craft and takes pride in doing things properly. This is not a cabling-heavy role and not an entry-level position. You will be working primarily on system design support, commissioning, advanced fault-finding, and upgrades across high-quality commercial and industrial sites. If you are tired of poor installs, corner‐cutting, and being sent to "fix someone else's mess", this role will suit you.
n
The Role
n
You will work across:
n
n
- Enterprise access control and intrusion systems
n
- Complex commissioning and troubleshooting
n
- Upgrades, expansions, and remediation of existing sites
n
- Client‐facing technical problem solving
n
n
Work is predominantly clean, technical, and cerebral rather than labour‐heavy. After‐hours work is rare and limited to genuine emergencies.
n
Systems You Will Work With

Experience with some or all of the following:
n
n
- Inner Range Inception (preferred – training provided if required)
n
- Inner Range Integriti
n
- GE Tecom Commander
n
- Permaconn
n

n

n
n
You do not need to be an expert in everything – but you must be comfortable working independently on enterprise‐grade systems.
n
What We Are Looking For (Non‐Negotiable)
n
n
- Senior technician mindset
n
- Minimum 3 years industry experience
n
- Strong commissioning and fault‐finding capability
n
- NSW Security Industry Licence
n
- ACMA cabling registration
n
- Professional presentation and client‐appropriate communication
n
- Ability to work unsupervised and make sound technical decisions
n
n
What This Is Not
n
n
- Not a junior or apprenticeship role
n
- Not bulk domestic installs
n
- Not trenching, roof crawling, or cable‐pulling all day
n
- Not micromanaged
n
n
If you are still learning fundamentals, this will not be the right environment.
n
What We Offer
n
n
- $90,000 – $110,000 (negotiable for the right person)
n
- Late-model European vehicle – take home
n
- Phone, laptop, tools provided
n
- Small, experienced team
n
- Low staff turnover
n
- Strong reputation and ethical operation
n
- Clean work, good systems, proper documentation
n
- Sydney Metro work only
n

The Culture
n
n
- Straight-talking, professional, and client-friendly
n
- High standards, no bullshit
n
- We back our technicians and expect accountability in return
n
n
Eligibility
n
You must have a clear criminal history, be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full work rights (details on application) to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Act.
n
