Job Description
Position
n
This permanent midwife position is located approximately 10 km from the CBD in Melbourne's inner west.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clinical, non‐clinical, and social needs, including identification of at‐risk women and babies, and accurately document findings in the consumer's health record and care plan.
n
- Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for all care delivered, practicing within scope and in accordance with organisational policies and skilled standards.
n
- Recognise changes in consumers' condition and take necessary action, including reporting and escalation, seeking appropriate assistance.
n
- Effectively develop discharge plans that reflect the needs of women, babies, families and their significant others and demonstrate an understanding of the role of community providers.
n
- Role‐model best practice and reference latest research.
n
- Perform other midwifery duties as required.
n
n
Qualifications and Requirements
n
n
- Current registration with AHPRA.
n
- Experience as a registered midwife.
n
- Demonstrated effective organisational skills, particularly with respect to time management, delegation and supervision.
n
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
n
- Police and criminal history check.
n
- Working with Children check if requested.
n
- Immunisation health clearance prior to employment.
n
- Sponsorship applications accepted for international applicants.
