A leading specialist insurance and financial lines practice is seeking a junior lawyer (1–2 PQE) to join its growing Sydney team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to build a long‐term career in financial lines, skilled risks and insurance litigation, working on complex, high‐value matters.

The Role

n

The successful candidate will work closely with senior practitioners recognised for their expertise across directors' & officers' liability, professional indemnity, management liability and coverage. The work is varied and intellectually engaging, with exposure to both Australian and international insurance markets.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Advising on complex insurance coverage issues
n
- Assisting with the defence of insurers in coverage disputes and litigation
n
- Working on claims involving D&O;, professional indemnity, management liability and financial institutions risks
n




- Supporting clients through regulatory investigations, inquiries and claims management
n
- Drafting advices, pleadings and correspondence and assisting with strategy
n

n

About You

n

n
- 1–2 years' post‐qualification experience
n
- Background in insurance, litigation or commercial disputes (financial lines experience advantageous but not essential)
n
- Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
n
- A commercial and practical approach to problem‐solving
n
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
n
