National Pickleball League
Victoria
Job Description
The National Pickleball League (NPL) is Australia's fastest-growing sport and entertainment business. Founded in 2022, we now operate across four pillars: professional and community leagues (NPLeague), owned venues in Melbourne (The Jar), a global SaaS tournament platform (LADER / NPTournaments), and a multi-sport licensing brand (PARK Racquet Club). We have 30,000+ members, teams across VIC, NSW and QLD, and ambitions well beyond Australia.
n
We move fast. Standards are high. The work gets seen.
n
The Opportunity
n
We are looking for a hungry, junior marketing professional with strong instincts for visual communication and social media. You know your way around design tools, you understand what makes content stop a scroll, and you take pride in getting the details right.
n
The right person will grow into a Senior Marketing role as NPL scales. This is explicitly a stepping‐stone role — but only if you earn it.
n
What You Will Do
n
Social Media
n
n
- Own the day‐to‐day content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook for NPL, The Jar, and PARK Racquet Club, with direct guidance from the Head of Brand
n
- Write sharp, on‐brand captions and copy in line with NPL's tone – confident, direct, no filler
n
- Schedule and publish content, monitor engagement, and respond to community comments and DMs
n
- Track platform analytics weekly and surface what is and is not working
n
n
Graphic Design & Content Production
n
n
- Produce social graphics, event assets, sponsor collateral, and ad creatives using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
n
- Maintain visual consistency across all NPL brands
n
- Brief and collaborate with external video editors and photographers when needed
n
- Assist in building out content templates that the broader team can use efficiently
n
n
Campaigns & Events
n
n
- Support the execution of marketing campaigns across NPLeague seasons, venue launches, and sponsor activations
n
- Coordinate marketing logistics for events – signage, social coverage plans, on‐the‐day content capture
n
- Help build and deploy EDM (email) campaigns via our CRM/email platform
n
- Assist in tracking campaign performance and preparing simple reports
n
n
General Marketing Support
n
n
- Keep asset libraries and content folders organised and up to date
n
- Assist with website content updates where required
n
- Contribute to briefing documents, content plans, and marketing calendars
n
- Be across what is happening across all NPL pillars so your content is always informed and relevant
n
n
What We Are Looking For
n
Skills & Experience
n
n
- Confident with social media platforms – you understand the difference between a good Instagram post and a excellent one
n
- Solid graphic design ability in Canva; Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator is a genuine advantage
n
- Strong written communication – you can write in a brand voice, not just your own
n
- Organised and self‐directed – you manage deadlines without being chased
n
- Basic video editing skills (Reels, short‐form content) is a plus
n
- Exposure to email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar) is desirable but not essential
n
- Some understanding of analytics – Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, or similar
n
n
You
n
n
- Genuinely interested in sport,
community, and culture – you do not need to be a pickleball player, but you need to care about what we are building
n
- Hungry to learn and willing to do the unglamorous work alongside the exciting stuff
n
- Comfortable working across multiple brands and projects at the same time
n
- Sharp eye for detail – you notice when something is off‐brand before anyone has to tell you
n
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Media, Design or a related field is preferred – not essential if your portfolio speaks for itself
n
n
What You Will Get
n
n
- Salary of $60,000 (+super) full‐time equivalent, pro‐rated to 3 days per week ($36,000 + Super)
n
- Real ownership and creative autonomy from day one – this is not a "fetch coffee and resize assets" role
n
- Direct exposure to a fast‐growing, multi‐venue sports business across league, technology, property, and events
n
- Access to The Jar venues (Melbourne's leading pickleball and padel facility) and NPL events
n
- A small, tight team where your contribution is visible and recognised
n
- Genuine career progression as NPL grows – we promote from within.
n
- View to a Full Time role if you are proactive, self‐driven and achieve excellence in the part‐time position.
n
n
Work Arrangements
n
This is a part‐time role structured around three days per week. We are flexible on which days work best for the right person, with 2 days per week required in person at our Richmond or South Melbourne base. The remaining day can be worked remotely.
n
You will work across multiple NPL locations and activations throughout the year – some weekend or evening availability for events will occasionally be required, with flexibility given in return.
