At Alcoa, you will become an essential part of our purpose: to turn raw potential into real progress. In this role, you will join the Electrical Tradesperson team in Portland Aluminium and work an 8‐hour day shift roster to ensure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment across the Smelter. You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and collaborate with internal and external work groups to optimise process and equipment performance by installing, repairing, commissioning, and testing equipment and components.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform isolations, commissioning, and initial running checks
n
- Prepare work scopes and project activities
n
- Supervise and coordinate projects
n
- Conduct handovers to and from operations
n
- Apply technical expertise to identify and eliminate inefficiencies
n
- Direct and oversee contractors
n
- Audit work quality
n

What You Can Bring to the Role

n

n
- Recognised Electrical Trade qualification (Australian Apprenticeship, Tradesperson's Rights Certificate, or equivalent)
n
- Current A Grade Electrical Licence
n
- Strong technical skills in isolating, diagnosing, analysing, and resolving complex equipment issues
n
- Experience with PLC systems and motor control (highly regarded)
n




- Excellent problem‐solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
n
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
n
- Experience in heavy manufacturing, industrial, or continuous production environments (advantageous)
n
- Robust commitment to safety and environmental standards, with active participation in safety initiatives
n
