Higher Education Officer Level 5 | $84,599 - $93,366 p.a.
Location: Either Renmark | On the Traditional Lands of the First Peoples of the River Murray & Mallee Region OR Mount Gambier | On the Traditional Lands of the First Nations of the Southeast
About the Role
This role is ideal for a relationship-focused professional who enjoys working closely with communities and creating meaningful engagement opportunities. As the Outreach and Engagement Officer, you will represent Flinders University across regional South Australia, building strong partnerships with schools, community organisations, government agencies and industry stakeholders. A key focus of the role is coordinating and attending events that promote health education and career pathways, while fostering connections that support student engagement and community outcomes. Frequent travel across regional areas, occasional interstate travel and some out-of-hours work are integral components of this exciting and highly visible position.
This position can be based in either Renmark or Mount Gambier, with travel across regional South Australia required.
- Coordinate and deliver a variety of outreach activities including school expos, careers events, community festivals, workshops and campus engagement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community groups, government agencies, NGOs and health sector stakeholders to strengthen community partnerships.
- Promote health-related education, training and career pathways, inspiring future students and increasing community awareness of study opportunities.
- Travel throughout regional South Australia, with occasional interstate travel, to engage communities and support outreach and engagement activities.
This position makes a significant contribution to the University's strategic plan, Changing 10 Million Lives, Every One Matters, by 2035 , through directly contributing to the strategic driver of Industry and Enterprise Partnerships and the core enabler of Stronger Together. By building meaningful relationships with schools, community organisations, government agencies and health sector stakeholders, the Outreach and Engagement Officer strengthens community connections, expands educational opportunities and creates pathways that positively impact regional communities and future health professionals.

You have experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including schools, community organisations, government agencies and community groups.
You possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills,
with the ability to engage effectively and respectfully with diverse communities in a culturally responsive manner.
You are highly organised, adaptable and capable of managing competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
You understand issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and education, along with a commitment to inclusive community engagement and exceptional customer service.

Flinders Rural and Remote Health SA (FRRHSA) facilitates high quality multidisciplinary health education and research in our State's regional areas.
