As part of our ongoing investment in our payroll systems, we're preparing to transition from Xero Payroll to Employment Hero Payroll.
n
We're looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to take ownership of our day-to-day payroll operations while working closely with our current Payroll Manager during this exciting transition.
n
To support a seamless transition, the successful candidate will join us ahead of our current Payroll Manager's departure later this year. This will provide the chance for a comprehensive handover while maintaining continuity for our people.

About the Role:
n
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration, you'll be responsible for the accurate, compliant and timely delivery of fortnightly payroll across our related entities.
n
You'll be the primary day-to-day owner of payroll operations, ensuring payroll is delivered accurately, compliantly and on time. As you settle into the role, you'll build a thorough understanding of our systems, people and processes.
n
This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation as we implement Employment Hero Payroll. This part-time (0.6 FTE) position is worked across Monday to Wednesday. Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work, may be considered once established in the role, subject to operational requirements.
n
You'll step into the day-to-day ownership of payroll from the outset, with the support of our current Payroll Manager throughout the transition period.
n
Our current Payroll Manager will remain with the organisation until the end of the year, primarily focusing on the successful implementation of Employment Hero Payroll while providing a structured handover and ongoing support as you become familiar with our payroll operations, systems and processes.

This approach allows you to confidently take ownership of payroll while benefiting from the knowledge and support of our experienced Payroll Manager, who knows our organisation, systems and payroll environment.

You'll also work closely with our collaborative HR and Finance team, who are committed to making the transition a success.

About You
n
You'll be an experienced payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership, works collaboratively and takes pride in delivering an accurate, compliant and reliable payroll service.
n
Ideally you'll have:
n
n
- Demonstrated experience processing end-to-end Australian payroll.
n
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation.
n
- Experience interpreting Modern Awards and employment conditions.
n
- Excellent reconciliation and reporting skills.
n
- Experience responding to payroll queries from employees and managers.
n
- A collaborative approach and strong attention to detail.
n
- Experience with Employment Hero, Xero Payroll or similar payroll systems (desirable).
n
- Experience within the education, disability or not-for-profit sectors would be highly regarded.
