Task & responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software applications that support organisational objectives.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Develop clean, scalable, and efficient code using appropriate programming languages and development frameworks.
- Perform software testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation to ensure system reliability.
- Modify and enhance existing software applications to improve functionality, efficiency, and user experience.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify system improvements and develop technology solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, user guides, and development records.
- Implement software security measures and ensure applications comply with data protection requirements.
- Support integration between software applications, databases, and third-party systems.
- Monitor application performance and resolve technical issues as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software capability and operational efficiency.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, programming practices, and software development methodologies.
Qualification & experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in software development, programming, or related ICT roles.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications.
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
- Experience working with software development frameworks and up-to-date development environments.
- Knowledge of database technologies including SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud technologies and software deployment environments will be highly regarded.
- Understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile practices.
- Experience using version control systems such as Git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
