CHS are seeking skilled and motivatedPsychologiststo join the Allied Health team within Adult Inpatient Mental Health Services (AIMHS). This role provides psychological services across the Acacia and Banksia Units, as well as other inpatient teams within the service.

Working under the limited direction of the Allied Health Manager and Allied Health Clinical Lead, you will exercise independent professional judgement to provide assessment and evidence-based interventions for people experiencing complex and serious mental health conditions. The role involves conducting comprehensive clinical assessments and delivering both individual and group-based therapeutic interventions within a recovery-focused framework.

As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to collaborative care planning, support consumers to achieve their recovery goals, participate in clinical supervision and professional development, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives across the service.

To be successful in this role,



you will be a skilled psychologist with experience working with people experiencing complex mental health conditions. You will demonstrate strong assessment and intervention skills, sound clinical judgement, and a commitment to recovery-oriented practice. Your ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to build effective therapeutic relationships and contribute positively to consumer outcomes. A commitment to ongoing professional development, clinical supervision, and continuous improvement will also be highly regarded.

This role offers the chance to work with a diverse inpatient mental health population while being part of a dedicated and experienced multidisciplinary team. You will be supported to further develop your clinical expertise through supervision, professional development, and opportunities to contribute to service improvement and innovative models of care.

A merit pool may be established from this recruitment process and will remain valid for 12 months. This pool may be used to fill similar roles/ future vacant positions at the same level across CHS.

Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:

- Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
- Comply with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.

Note: There is a part-time (29.4 hours per week)



temporary position available for six months with the possibility of extension and afull-time temporary position available for 18 months with the possibility of extension and/orpermanency. The full time salary noted above will be paid pro rata for the part time position.
