Your new company An opportunity is available for an experienced Permit Room Officer to join a busy safety team supporting operations within a large industrial environment.

This role will suit a safety-focused administrator with strong attention to detail and experience working with permit systems, compliance processes, or operational safety procedures.

Based in Fremantle, this position offers a short-term assignment through to 30 November 2026, working Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work as required.

Your current role
n
Reporting to the Safety Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating permit processes and supporting site safety compliance activities.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
- Managing and administering the Permit to Work (PTW) system
n
- Reviewing permits and supporting documentation to ensure work is authorised and compliant
n
- Coordinating high-risk work permits, isolations and lockout processes
n
- Conducting site inspections to verify permit requirements and workplace readiness
n
- Maintaining accurate permit records and documentation
n
- Supporting compliance with safety policies, procedures and legislative requirements
n
- Assisting with safety administration and training initiatives as required
n
- Liaising with contractors, operational teams and stakeholders regarding permit requirements
n

What you'll need to succeed
n
n
- Previous experience issuing permits to work (highly desirable)
n
- Alternatively, strong experience with systems administration, compliance or operational coordination
n
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices within industrial, mining, logistics, construction or heavy industry environments
n
- Understanding of WA WHS legislation and safety requirements (desirable)
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
- Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
n
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills across Microsoft Office and business systems
n
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
n
