Role Responsibilities
n
n
- Prepare estimates, cost plans and budgets
n
- Receive, record and compare subcontractor and supplier bids
n
- Provide recommendations to the General Manager regarding preliminaries, risk/opportunity, and margin allowances for tenders
n
- Compile tender summary sheets, including labour histograms, preliminaries, and detailed subcontractor/supplier quotation analysis
n
- Develop and maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships and database
n
- Prepare handover documents
n
- Supervise, train, and mentor cadets and junior estimators
n
- Negotiate with clients and consultants following submission of tenders and prior to acceptance
n
n
Role Requirements
n
n
- Minimum 5+ years' local commercial construction estimating experience
n
- Associated tertiary qualifications
n
- Experience tendering on projects valued at $10 million and upwards
n
- Experience with Buildsoft / Cubit is advantageous but not essential
n
- Ability to estimate across all construction sectors would be advantageous but not essential
n
- Organised and detailed with a high level of accuracy
n
- Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
n
- Positive and professional attitude with the ability to collaborate with other staff
n
- Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
n
