Longitude has a brand-new opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter looking to take the next step in their career in this exciting new role on a (very) hybrid basis, with 'office days' being located in North Sydney or Brisbane. This role is a 14-month fixed term contract, with potential for permanency!

Reporting to the Service Manager this role is primarily to build, create and maintain robust relationships with all stakeholders to underwrite profitable business within a delegated authority through trading with brokers.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

n

- Actioning quotes and renewals are within agreed service level agreements.
n
- Providing excellent customer service in a written and verbal capacity.
n
- Contributing to new business growth and renewal retention objectives.
n
- Adhering to all relevant legislation, regulations, codes and Company policies and procedures.
n
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients,



service providers, and other insurance professionals, fostering effective communication and collaboration.

Skills required to perform the role:

n

We are ideally looking for somebody who has property or strata Underwriting or General insurance experience, such as working in a contact centre as a service consultant within claims or service. But ultimately, what we want is a keen attitude and willingness to learn and progress as an underwriting expert.

Additionally, someone who has the following skillset would excel their potential in this role:

n

n
- Professional, clear and concise communication and presentation skills.
n
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively and productively.
n
- Solid problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
n
- Strata experience or knowledge would be favoured, but not essential.
n
- Certificate IV in General Insurance would be highly regarded but not essential.
n
