About the role
n
As a Commissioning Generator Technician, you'll play an important role in commissioning, testing and supporting the power generation systems customers rely on every day.
n
Working alongside experienced engineers, technicians and specialists, you'll apply your expertise to real-world challenges, solve complex problems and help deliver reliable outcomes across data centres, healthcare facilities, mining operations, utilities and major infrastructure projects.
n
This is an opportunity to build your technical capability while working with advanced equipment, evolving technologies and some of the most experienced professionals in the industry.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
- Commission, test and sign off diesel and gas generator systems to specification and industry standards
n
- Conduct functional testing including load bank testing, controls verification, protection checks and performance validation
n
- Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical issues during commissioning activities
n
- Prepare commissioning documentation including test sheets, punch lists, redlines and handover packs
n
- Collaborate with project managers, site teams and customers to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes on time
n
n
What you'll bring
n
We're looking for someone who brings both capability and a cooperative mindset.
n
Required
n
n
- A-Grade Electrical Licence with hands‐on generator and mechanical experience
n
- Proven generator experience in servicing and/or commissioning diesel or gas generator systems
n
- Ability to travel locally and interstate and mobilise from the workshop as required
n
- Current driver's licence and full Australian working rights
n
n
Highly regarded
n
n
- Experience with power system controls, AVR and governor systems, PLC/SCADA interfaces and LV/MV switchgear
n
- Ability to interpret single‐line diagrams, schematics, wiring schedules and OEM manuals
n
- Exposure to Caterpillar or other major OEM generator packages
n
n
