New Graduate Physiotherapist — Full Time - February 2027 Start
Graduate this year? Secure your first Physio role now — then take a proper break before your career begins.
You've spent years getting through university. We don't think you need to finish your final exams and immediately start your career.
We're recruiting now for a New Graduate Physiotherapist to join Livfit Physio Mornington in early February 2027.
Secure your position this year. Finish uni. Celebrate. Travel. Enjoy summer and some well-earned time with friends and family.
Then start your career in February fresh, recharged and ready to learn.
YOUR FIRST YEAR SHOULD BE ABOUT MORE THAN SURVIVING PRIVATE PRACTICE
At Livfit, our goal is to develop you into a confident, capable and commercially successful private-practice Physiotherapist.
You'll work directly alongside the clinic owner, a Physiotherapist with 28 years' private-practice experience and a track record of building successful clinics and developing physiotherapists into senior clinicians and, in some cases, business partners.
We're independently owned — not a franchise — so your mentoring and development happen directly with the people you work alongside.
We don't expect you to arrive as an experienced Physiotherapist.
We do expect you to want to become one.
A STRUCTURED GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM
You won't simply be handed a diary and left to work things out for yourself.
- Structured clinical induction and onboarding
- Weekly mentoring and case reviews
- Training in clinical reasoning and common musculoskeletal presentations
- Development of both manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation skills
- Practical frameworks for running confident consultations
- Training in patient communication and expectation-setting
- Treatment planning and caseload management
- Clear performance milestones throughout your first year
- Regular feedback as your confidence and independence increase
You'll always know what you're working towards and where you need to improve.
COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELF
We don't expect you to choose your first clinic based on promises in a job ad.
Shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to spend half a day alongside our recently graduated Physiotherapist as well as the owner before making a decision.
You'll observe real consultations, meet the team and see firsthand how we communicate with clients, approach treatment, mentor our clinicians and operate as a clinic.
You'll get to see who we actually are — not just who we say we are.
DEVELOP A BROAD CLINICAL SKILL SET
Exercise prescription and progressive rehabilitation deserve a major role in physiotherapy, and we place a strong emphasis on developing these skills.
But we also believe a well-rounded physiotherapist should develop strong hands-on clinical skills.
During your graduate year, we'll help you develop manual therapy, exercise prescription, rehabilitation and clinical reasoning together, rather than limiting your development to one treatment approach.
You'll also learn how to:
- Communicate confidently with patients
- Explain conditions in language patients understand
- Build trust and rapport
- Set realistic expectations
- Develop and communicate clear treatment plans
- Measure and demonstrate progress
- Build and retain a healthy caseload
- Manage your diary effectively
- Understand the commercial drivers of a successful private practice
Our objective is to develop you across the areas that matter: clinical reasoning, hands-on skills, rehabilitation, patient communication and commercial capability.
We don't expect you to develop rehabilitation skills with a resistance band in the corner of a treatment room.
Our physiotherapists have access to a fully equipped off-site commercial gym - Train 247, with all the equipment you'd expect to find in a commercial gym as well as a reformer Pilates studio.
This gives you the opportunity to develop your skills in exercise prescription and progressive rehabilitation using proper equipment in a real training environment.
We also use our own custom-built App for exercise prescription, education and patient empowerment, which you'll learn to incorporate into your clinical care.
And as a Livfit physiotherapist, you'll receive free gym membership at Train 247 for your own use.
A CLEAR FIRST-YEAR PROGRESSION
Your caseload will build progressively. We don't expect you to walk in on day one with the productivity of an experienced physiotherapist.
We do have clear milestones around clinical development, caseload growth and utilisation.
You'll review your progress regularly with the clinic owner, receive direct feedback and be given increasing autonomy as your capability develops.
The goal is for you to finish your graduate year as a confident,
independent private-practice Physiotherapist with a strong and sustainable caseload.
$81K BASE + SUPER — WITH COMMISSIONS
Your starting base is approximately $81,000 + super.
As your caseload grows, your earning potential grows with it.
Our remuneration model rewards performance, so high-performing clinicians don't have to wait years for their income to reflect their contribution.
High-performing clinicians progress beyond $100,000 in their first year.
WHERE CAN YOUR CAREER GO AFTER YEAR ONE?
Career progression isn't a normal part of most private practice. Our clinic is different.
After your graduate year, there are two broad pathways:
Clinical Pathway
Become an exceptional private-practice clinician, develop a strong caseload and continue increasing your autonomy and earning capacity without needing to take on management responsibilities.
Business & Leadership Pathway
If you're interested in how a successful private practice operates, you can develop your commercial and leadership capability, with potential progression into clinic leadership and greater participation in clinic growth.
Progression is based on performance and capability — not simply years served.
A ROSTER DESIGNED TO HELP YOU BUILD
Building a caseload requires being available when patients want appointments.
Your first-year roster therefore includes a combination of mornings, evenings and every-second-Saturday shifts, including some of the clinic's highest-demand appointment periods.
This gives a new clinician the best opportunity to establish a strong caseload.
As your caseload and contribution become established, greater roster flexibility becomes available.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're more interested in your attitude and behaviour than how impressive your graduate CV looks.
We're looking for someone who:
- Wants feedback and acts on it
- Communicates confidently and genuinely cares about people
- Is reliable and professional
- Takes responsibility rather than making excuses
- Wants to become excellent at private practice
- Is comfortable working towards clear expectations
- Wants their income and autonomy to increase with their capability
- Is prepared to work hard while establishing their career
- Wants somewhere they can genuinely develop over several years
This won't suit someone looking for a low-accountability graduate position where simply turning up is considered valuable performance.
It will suit someone who wants to look back three years from now and see clinical ability, confidence, a high income and career opportunities.
