About the role

The position is responsible for the development of community partnerships and service coordination to support the delivery of community-based youth programs, activities and events that meet the needs of young people in Merri-bek.

The position involves community outreach and the development of partnership initiatives that respond directly to the local needs of young people,



with a particular focus on the Northern suburbs of Merri-bek.

Skills and experience require to perform the role

- Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Social Science, or related field and/or substantial demonstrated experience in youth work and/or community development.
- Experience in program design, development, implementation, and evaluation and working with young people using youth participation/community development principles.
- Experience in project management and or event management.
- Demonstrated understanding of issues facing young people and appropriate service responses that are evidenced based and best practice.
- Experience in providing personal support to young people.
- Ability to cooperate, work effectively and partner with a variety of stakeholders, including staff, partnership agencies, community groups and government.
- The ability to work as a positive team member and to foster and encourage constructive interaction between staff, the community and young people.
- Current Victorian Driver’s License, Working with Children Check Card and Workplace First Aid Certificate.
