Due to continuous site growth, they are expanding their advanced production facility in Clayton South and are seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter to secure a full-time, permanent position on the Afternoon Shift.

The Opportunity: Precision Reliability & Plant Optimisation

n

Reporting directly to the Reliability & Maintenance Manager, this is a hands-on, on-the-tools role where you will be integral to the site's success. Forget chaotic breakdown yards; this is a fast-paced, highly organised FMCG food manufacturing setting.

n

You will be responsible for ensuring the absolute reliability, safety, and efficiency of highly automated assets—spanning Volumetric Filling machinery, advanced mixing systems, and complex Case Packing lines.

n

What You Will Do:

n

- Mechanical Care: Carry out precision preventative and corrective maintenance across high-speed production lines and utilities equipment.
n
- Diagnostics & Fault Finding: Rapidly diagnose mechanical faults, performing timely repairs to minimise production downtime with a strong focus on root-cause analysis.
n
- Asset Tracking: Utilise the MEX/Fiix CMMS system to log completed work orders, manage critical spare parts, and build data-driven foundations for predictive maintenance.
n
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, line upgrades,



and reliability projects to optimise overall plant efficiency.
n
- Compliance & Safety: Complete all maintenance activities safely and in line with strict site procedures, standard GMP practices, and food safety regulations.
n

- Top-Tier Earnings: A highly competitive base rate of $50.00 - $55.00 per hour + 15% Shift Loading + Super.

- Predictable Afternoon Roster: Stable afternoon hours (typically 2:00pm/3:00pm to 10:00pm/11:00pm) with no guaranteed weekend work, supporting a true work-life balance. Optional overtime of around 5 hours per week is typically available.

What You Bring:

- The Qualification: Trade Qualification in Engineering (Mechanical) – Certificate III minimum (Certificate IV is highly desirable). A restricted electrical licence is also a major advantage.

- The Background: Minimum 3 years of experience as a maintenance fitter/technician within a food, dairy, meat, beverage, or high-speed FMCG packaging environment.
n
- Technical Mastery: Superior fault-finding capabilities across pneumatic circuits, automated conveyor networks, gearboxes, fluid pumps, and filling components.
n
- The Mindset: A proactive, safety-first operator who thrives on a variety of work, possesses great computer literacy, and maintains a high level of attention to detail.
