The Role
n
An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Technical Lead / Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in a major transformation program within the utilities sector. This role requires a strategic thinker who is equally comfortable taking a hands‐on approach and can translate architectural vision into practical, deliverable solutions. Working as part of a team-oriented, high‐performing project team, you will take ownership of end‐to‐end solution design and ensure the technical integrity of systems spanning applications, integrations, cloud, and network infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the architecture not only meets business objectives but also drives efficiency, scalability, and long‐term sustainability.

This is a large‐scale transformation initiative modernising core technology systems and infrastructure across the organisation. The program spans enterprise applications, cloud adoption, data and integration platforms, and field technology solutions. It represents a step‐change in how technology supports customer experience, operational excellence, and digital capability.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Define and own end‐to‐end solution architectures, ensuring technical alignment with program goals.
n
- Lead the translation of architecture into actionable technical delivery, maintaining oversight from design through implementation.
n
- Provide technical leadership across applications, integrations, cloud, and network domains.
n
- Collaborate with delivery teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders to ensure cohesive execution.
n
- Present architectural decisions and strategies to executives and governance forums with clarity and confidence.
n
- Balance innovation with practicality – designing solutions that are both visionary and achievable.
n

Skills and Experience Required
n
n
- Proven experience as a Technical Lead or Solution Architect on complex enterprise transformation programs.
n
- Background in utilities, energy, or water sectors preferred.
n
- Strong technical grounding across applications, integrations, cloud (Azure or AWS), and ideally network infrastructure.
n
- Demonstrated success taking solutions from architecture through to delivery.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
n
- Delivery‐oriented mindset with the ability to balance architecture rigour and business outcomes.
n
