The animal attendant's role is to consistently provide the highest standard of care for our guests and maintain the pristine environment that Abbeyards is proud to be known for!
n
The position requires someone who can demonstrate their ability to control and care for all dogs from Chihuahuas to Outstanding Danes.
n
Someone who flourishes in a busy workplace will suit this role perfectly. This is a very dynamic, hard-working role and involves monitoring different dogs, ensuring their individual needs are met whilst also completing a variety of other maintenance and cleaning duties on our large property.
n
The successful applicant must be quick on their feet and be able to identify and complete tasks independently.
n
Kennel work is a 365 day a year job and busiest during school holidays/Christmas/Easter etc so flexibility is important.
n
Qualifications
n
We require someone with a very good work ethic and the ability to learn quickly with on the job training.Previous cleaning work or Animal Attendant work a bonus but definitely not necessary.
n

Skills
n
Be able to be on the move all day!
n
Good at multi tasking
n
Be reliable and flexible (hours are subject to change).
n
Have a Valid Driver's Licence and own vehicle (we are in the Mudgeeraba bushland).
n
Able to safely lift and/or move up to 20kg.
n

Attention to detail required to recognize and report health or behavioral issues among our dogs and cats.

Remuneration and Hours
n
Tuesday :6:30am-4:30pm
n
Saturday: 6:30am - 4:30pm
n
+10% Superannuation
n
Friday: 6:30am-4:30pm (The Friday shift will be added to your roster at the beginning of September)
n
Work is permanent part-time so holiday and sick pay is accumulated.
n
Abbeyards works under an EBA so weekend penalty rates do not apply.
