About the role
n
Join our dynamic team as a Maintenance Fitter, where you will play a pivotal in maintaining the efficiency and functionality of our industrial machinery. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing a variety of mechanical equipment, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to enhance operational standards. This position demands a blend of mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. We are currently hiring for this critical position at our Oakeybranch, where you will be directly reporting to the Production Manager.

Your key responsibilities:
n
n
- Conduct both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, conveyors, compressors, and other industrial machinery.
n
- Efficiently identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
n
- Perform effective repairs to restore and maintain equipment operational status.
n
- Actively participate in planned preventive maintenance activities, ensuring equipment is kept in optimal condition.
n
- Adhere to and enforce all safety guidelines and protocols during maintenance tasks, while identifying potential safety hazards.
n
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including equipment logs, repair reports, and spare parts inventory.
n
- Collaborate with engineering, production teams, and other maintenance staff to coordinate maintenance activities and suggest improvements for equipment reliability and efficiency.
n
- Ensure the availability of critical spare parts and maintain an organized inventory.
n
- Provide technical support to production operators in equipment operation and troubleshooting.
n
- Comply with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices in maintenance and safety.
n

Desired Skills and Experience
n
What we're looking for:
n
n
- Trade qualification in mechanical fitting or boiler making.
n
- Experience in a maintenance fitter role, preferably within the feed, agriculture, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
n
- Experience as a forklift operator and possess a current forklift license.
n
- Boiler Attendance Ticket or the ability to obtain one.
n
- Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights licenses (highly desirable).
n
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks.
n
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial equipment.
n
- Proficient in analyzing and diagnosing mechanical issues and implementing solutions.
n
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and fostering a safety-first culture.
n
