Job Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)
Salary range: $75,000-85,000
Our Client, Ambarsariya Car Mechanic is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Motor Mechanic to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicle components, ensuring all repairs meet performance and safety standards.
Tasks Include
- Discuss vehicle faults and service requirements with customers and accurately identify reported symptoms.
- Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment, testing tools and road tests where required.
- Provide customers with clear explanations of identified faults, recommended repairs and estimated repair costs, and obtain approval before commencing work.
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other vehicle components as required for inspection and repair.
- Inspect engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering and other vehicle components for wear, damage, faults and defects.
- Repair, replace and reassemble worn or defective mechanical and electrical components, including engine, transmission, braking, steering and electrical system parts.
- Refer to manufacturer specifications, service manuals and technical information to ensure repairs and adjustments are completed correctly.
- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil and fluid changes, lubrication, filter replacement,
tyre checks and engine tune-ups.
- Tune and adjust engines and related systems, including ignition and fuel systems, to improve vehicle performance and operating efficiency.
- Test repaired vehicles and components to confirm correct operation, performance and safety, and make further adjustments where necessary.
- Inspect and service vehicle emission and pollution-control systems in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Attend to vehicle breakdowns and provide mechanical assistance where required.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records, including diagnostic findings, work completed, parts used and labour time.
- Maintain a clean and safe workshop, follow occupational health and safety procedures, and ensure tools, equipment and waste materials are handled appropriately.
- Keep up to date with automotive technology, diagnostic procedures and repair methods relevant to the workshop's services.
Qualifications
- A certificate IV or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is required.
- 3 years of full time recent relevant experience working as a motor mechanic is required.
- Experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Understanding of engine diagnostics, mechanical systems and repair procedures.
- Experience using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
- Familiarity with emissions and pollution control standards.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
