Job Description

The Development Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, and progressing utility-scale renewable energy projects from origination through to construction readiness. The role works across technical, commercial, environmental, and stakeholder streams to deliver high-quality development outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and evaluate greenfield, brownfield, repowering, and expansion opportunities.
n
- Lead projects through development, including land access, planning approvals, environmental assessments, stakeholder engagement, and grid connection activities.
n
- Manage external consultants, advisors, and contractors.
n
- Develop project plans, budgets, risk registers, and business cases.
n
- Monitor project performance, expenditure, and key development milestones.
n
- Support investment assessments and due diligence activities.
n
- Manage project handover to construction and delivery teams.
n
- Build strong relationships with landowners, communities, regulators, network providers, and project partners.
n
- Integrate health, safety, sustainability, and ESG principles into all development activities.

Qualifications & Experience

n

n
- Degree in Engineering, Planning, Environmental Science, Commerce, or a related discipline.
n
- 5+ years' experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or the energy sector.
n
- Demonstrated experience developing renewable energy projects in Australia.
n
- Experience with solar, wind, BESS, or related technologies.
n
- Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and commercial evaluation skills.
n
- Understanding of Australian energy markets, planning approvals, and regulatory frameworks.
n
- Commercial and financial analysis
