The Andersen Partnership have been instructed by a well-established specialist Planning & Environment law firm in Sydney is seeking a lawyer with 1+ years' post-qualification experience to join its team on a permanent basis.

This firm is known for its strong reputation in planning and environmental law and works predominantly with local and state government clients, alongside a carefully selected private developer practice. Workflow is consistent year-round, supported by existing government panel appointments and upcoming panel outcomes.

The Role

n

You will work across a mix of advisory and contentious planning and setting matters, with early responsibility and solid client exposure. Lawyers at junior levels work closely with partners, benefiting from hands-on mentoring and direct involvement in matters rather than being siloed behind layers of hierarchy.

The firm operates a structured but supportive development model, where junior lawyers rotate between partners over time, allowing for broad exposure across the practice and clear progression based on merit.

About You

n

This role will suit a lawyer with:

n

n




- 1+ PQE in planning & environment law (or a closely aligned public/public sector practice)
n
- Public sector experience at local or state government level (desirable)
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- A collaborative approach and genuine interest in specialist planning work
n

n

Lawyers from interstate or New Zealand will also be considered, provided they have relevant public sector experience.
