About the Role
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering effective, efficient and quality patient care across the acute and sub-acute settings at Orbost Regional Health. This is a genuine prospect to broaden your clinical scope in a close-knit rural facility where no two days look the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care within professional, legal and ethical standards
- Assess patients' health needs and expected outcomes, and develop care plans in collaboration with the broader healthcare team
- Involve patients in planning and delivering their own care
- Liaise with medical, clinical and senior nursing staff when additional expertise is required
- Deliver patient education and appropriately document advice given
- Maintain accurate, contemporary clinical records
- Assist with discharge planning
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Participate in the patient admission process
- Contribute to relevant hospital committees
- Support the orientation of new staff
- Participate in projects and other duties as required
