Help at Hand Support Services is looking for experienced Disability Support Workers who would like to join us and help make a difference to the lives of people with a disability. You will provide a person-centred approach and your daily routine will depend on the person you are supporting. Every day could be different: you might assist a client to go out to the beach, to a movie or a game, or you might attend a medical appointment and keep them company at home with a cup of tea. This type of work is exciting and wide-ranging.

Responsibilities

- Provide a person-centred approach to support people with a disability.
n
- Assist clients with daily activities, outings, and community participation.
n
- Support clients during medical appointments and other health appointments.
n
- Keep clients company at home, providing companionship and support.
n

Qualifications

n

n
- Own fully insured and reliable vehicle.
n




- International police check (if applicable) or current police check (must be within 6 months from date of application).
n
- Cert III in Disability or above, or equivalent experience.
n
- Current Working with Children check.
n
- First aid/CPR certificates (current).
n
- Full and clean Australian driver's licence.
n
- Be punctual, reliable and flexible.
n
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Empathetic and proactive with a genuine interest to work in this field.
n
- Ability to self-supervise and remain calm and composed at times of crisis.
n
- Right to live and work in Australia.
n
