Senior DevOps Engineer

Contract: 12 months + extensions

Location: QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, NT, SA, TAS

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Senior DevOps Engineer to join a dynamic Technology Services team delivering innovative fit‐for‐purpose ICT solutions for a national government program. This role is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to digital transformation initiatives that improve service delivery and participant experience.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Act as a subject matter expert in application security, providing technical leadership and direction.
n
- Support the design, build, and governance of secure, scalable AWS‐based platforms and applications.
n
- Design, implement, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and efficient delivery.
n
- Partner with Cyber Security teams and product owners to ensure security controls align with business and operational goals.
n
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, engaging the right stakeholders to drive solutions.
n
- Provide high‐level technical input and strategic recommendations to senior platform leadership.
n
- Contribute to a collaborative, high‐performing team culture aligned with organisational values.
n
- Integrate and enhance monitoring, logging,
and compliance capabilities across environments.
n
n
Must have
n
n
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a DevOps Engineer or Kubernetes Administrator, with strong hands‐on expertise in AWS automation.
n
- Proven capability implementing Role‐Based Access Control (RBAC) within AWS environments.
n
- Solid experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, along with building and managing CI/CD pipelines to support full lifecycle delivery.
n
- Robust understanding of containerised workloads and Kubernetes‐based application environments.
n
- Experience integrating AWS platforms with third‐party identity providers.
n
- A proactive mindset with the willingness and capability to learn and support SAS DevOps practices on the job.
n

Desirable Skills
n
n
- Familiarity with SAS Viya and accessible design principles.
n
- Experience developing REST APIs using Go, NodeJS, AngularJS, Typescript, Python, or similar.
n
- Experience monitoring AWS components using CloudWatch, Dynatrace, or Splunk.
n
- Maintaining technical documentation and applying Agile practices.
n
