About the role

We are seeking a proactive Senior Civil Plant Operator to assist in the construction and maintenance of roads, footpaths, shared use paths, kerbing, minor concrete installations and verges within the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Salary starting from $77,573.38

Duties

n

n
- Ensure all WHS obligations are met as per the City's policies and procedures and complete Take 5's risk assessment, SWMS and plant and pre-starts.
n
- Meet work schedule/attendance expectations for the position and always maintain a qualified image.
n
- Complete assigned work tasks in a thorough, accurate and timely manner that achieves expected outcomes to all required standards.
n
- Advise immediate supervisor by text message and/or telephone call of all absences and expected duration before scheduled start of shift.
n
- Ensure maintenance of vehicles, plant, machinery and equipment in a clean, presentable and serviceable manner.
n
- Complete all tasks documentation fully and accurately and daily.
n
- Completes timesheets or leave applications daily.
n

Qualifications

n

n
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position in civil construction and maintenance, including roads and drainage.
n
- Minimum of 5 years experience operating at least two of the mobile plant listed (grader, excavator and bobcat) but not limited; specialised plant is an advantage.
n
- Experience working with levels, laser levels and a good understanding of construction site plans; final trim operators will be an advantage.
n
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Ability to work in a team environment.
n
- Previous experience in operation of maintenance and construction plant and equipment.
n
- Competent and currently qualified (ticketed) to operate maintenance and construction plant and equipment (skid steer, excavators, loaders, roller, graders, forklift etc).
n




- Holder of a traffic management qualification or be willing to obtain.
n
- Current satisfactory national police clearance.
n
- Current WA "HC" class driver's licence (manual) or be willing to obtain; minimum "HR" class driver's licence essential.
n
- Construction card (white card).
n
- These jobs are residential positions only, not FIFO, DIDO or sponsored positions.
