Banksy Bar & Kitchen is a contemporary cafe and espresso bar located in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Queensland. We offer sit down breakfast and lunch options, both dine-in and takeaway, using organic coffee beans roasted by Quest Coffee Roasters. Fridays and Saturdays we are open until 4pm.

We are looking for a Senior Chef to join our team.

Position:Senior Chef
n Hours:30-38 hours/week Casual
n Rate:$37.00 – $40.00 / hr + Super, Bonuses, and Penalty Rates
n Location:Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD

RESPONSIBILITIES

n

- Food Preparation & Cooking:Prepare and cook a variety of sweet and savoury dishes.
n
- Team Instructions:Provide assembly, handling, and heating instructions to the café team.
n
- Inventory & Cost Management:Monitor inventory, place orders, and manage food costs to minimise waste.
n




- Menu Development:Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development and seasonal changes.
n
- Quality Control:Ensure quality control, presentation, and consistency in all dishes.
n
- Equipment Maintenance:Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly.
n
- Safety & Sanitation:Enforce food safety, sanitation regulations, and maintain a safe work environment.
n
- Customer Interaction:Address customer feedback and collaborate with front-of-house on food-related concerns.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

n

n
- Minimum 5 or more years of recent experience as a Chef
n
- Experience in cafe service
n
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills
n
- A strong understanding of health and safety
n

n

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

- Australian citizen or resident with permanent working rights in Australia
n
- Loves high quality food
n

n

NICE TO HAVE

n

n
- Professional cookery, chef, or food science certification or degree.

- Baking experience.

- Menu development expertise
