About the Roles & Teams
n This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Community Mental Health Service in one of two key locum roles. Both positions require experienced mental health professionals who are confident in acute assessment, risk management, and treatment planning in a regional healthcare setting.
n
Role 1: Acute Adult Mental Health (SRN 3+)
n
n
- Provide acute mental health assessments, risk evaluations, and intervention planning.
n
- Deliver psychiatric and consultant liaison nursing in a community setting.
n
- Support individuals experiencing severe mental health crises, ensuring appropriate care pathways.
n
- Deliver education and training sessions to enhance service capability.
n
n
Role 2: Child & Adolescent Mental Health (iCAMHS - CNS)
n
n
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and case management for children and adolescents with severe and enduring mental illness.
n
- Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans.
n
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other health professionals to provide holistic care.
n
- Primarily based in Northam, with potential to work in Narrogin or Merredin depending on service needs.
n
- Orientation provided in Northam (1-2 weeks) for candidates current to WA Health systems.
n
n
Skills & Requirements
n
n
- Registered Nurse (AHPRA) with experience in mental health nursing.
n
- Expertise in acute mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and risk management.
n
- Experience in psychiatric liaison nursing (Acute role) OR child & adolescent case management (CAMHS role).
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a regional multidisciplinary team.
n
- Cultural awareness and experience working with Aboriginal communities.
n
- National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check & Vaccinations (or willingness to obtain).
n
n
