Job Description
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Strategic People & Culture Business Partner to join the team at Newcastle Anglican. You will be responsible for providing high-level, forward-looking workforce and organisational advice to Executive and senior leaders across an allocated business group.

You will help shape the workforce strategy, supporting service design and program transitions, and ensure people approaches are aligned to applicable funding models, regulatory requirements, and organisational priorities.

This is a Full Time 6 month max-term contract.

Role & Responsibilities
n
n
- Partner with Executive and senior leaders to shape workforce strategies aligned to service delivery models, funding constraints, and organisational direction
n
- Support Executive with clear, evidence-based insights to inform decision-making
n
- Provide proactive, insight-led advice on workforce risks, opportunities, and emerging trends across business group
n
- Contribute to strategic planning, including program design, service reform, and tender readiness
n
- Lead the development of workforce models that are sustainable, compliant, and aligned to contract and service requirements
n
- Provide strategic advice on organisational structure, role design and workforce composition
n
- Provide strategic oversight of industrial risks associated with workforce decisions, including Enterprise Agreement and Award implications and employment legislation
n
- Guide leaders on complex workforce scenarios, balancing operational, financial, and employee considerations
n
- Support effective engagement with unions and ensure a considered and consistent approach to industrial matters
n
- Lead strategic people-related projects and change initiatives end-to-end, including shaping approach, engaging stakeholders, and supporting effective change adoption across the business
n
- Lead and coordinate workforce and organisational aspects of complex change and transformation initiatives, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement and effective change adoption
n
- Ensure alignment between workforce strategy, communication, and implementation
n
- Act as a trusted advisor to Executive and senior leaders, proactively identifying emerging risks and coordinating early, strategic responses to complex people and organisational challenges
n
- Coach leaders in navigating ambiguity, managing change, and aligning workforce decisions to broader strategy
n
- Contribute to building leadership capability in workforce planning and organisational thinking
n
- Triage complex workforce and employment matters early,
drawing together relevant stakeholders to enable timely, well-informed strategic decision-making
n
- Work closely with People Experience functions (Talent, Culture & Capability, Change) to align workforce initiatives
n
- Collaborate with People Services (ER, People Advisory, Payroll, WHS) to ensure effective execution of workforce strategies
n
- Contribute to whole-of-organisation P&C; initiatives and strategic priorities
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of People & Culture practices, policies and frameworks
n
n
About you?
n
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or other related discipline
n
- Significant experience in a senior HR role or strategic equivalent
n
- Proven organisational, administrative and time management skills, including strong attention to detail
n
- Effective self-management and prioritisation of workloads
n
- Demonstrated capacity to work flexibly and a willingness to work on different and multiple activities
n
- Strong experience in Business Partnering, including providing advice to Senior Leaders and various stakeholders
n
