About the role

The Examinations Manager leads the delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of CICM’s examination program across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Reporting to the General Manager, Education and Assessments, you will oversee examination operations, ensuring the successful delivery of written, oral, and clinical assessments. You will drive excellence in the examinations administration, quality assurance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement, while maintaining examination integrity and candidate satisfaction.

Working closely with Fellows, Examiners, Committees, Trainees, and external partners, you will support innovation, enhance assessment processes, and contribute to the strategic direction and ongoing success of a leading specialist medical college.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of the College's examination program, including written, oral, clinical, and online assessments.
- Oversee examination operations, including scheduling, candidate registrations, examiner allocations, venues, technology platforms, and communications.
- Ensure examinations are delivered with the highest standards of quality, efficacy, integrity, fairness, and compliance.
- Manage examination results, appeals, reviews, and stakeholder enquiries in accordance with College policies.
- Drive quality assurance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the examination experience.
- Build strong relationships with Fellows, Examiners, Trainees, Committees, and external partners.
- Oversee examiner recruitment, onboarding, training,



and support.
- Manage examination systems and digital assessment platforms, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Prepare reports, analysis, and recommendations to support governance, accreditation, and strategic decision-making.
- Lead, support, and develop the Examinations team, fostering a team-oriented, high-performing, and customer-focused culture.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence and strategic objectives in the examinations.

You will bring

- A relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Health Administration, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing examinations, assessments, accreditation programs, or complex administrative operations.
- Strong leadership, project management, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with committees, diverse stakeholders and external partners.
- A commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and delivering excellent member and candidate experiences.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience with assessment, membership, student, or CRM systems.
- Experience within a healthcare, education, professional membership, or regulatory environment will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of specialist medical education or training programs is desirable.
- Flexibility to work additional hours during examination periods and occasional travel as required.
