Position summary

We are seeking expressions of interest from Senior and Lead Electrical Engineers (Power Systems and LV plant) who may be interested in joining our current Melbourne office. You will contribute to and coordinate design on major mining projects that ECG is driving from study phase through to delivery, around the world.

With offices in Perth, Brisbane, Toronto, Manila & Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania & Cape Town, ECG have the capability to design and deliver on complex projects, from early study work to commissioning and handover, drawing on the expertise of senior ECG personnel who have worked together for 30 + years.

About the role

The roles will be Melbourne based, working as part of ECG’s growing national design capability. There will be collaboration with our established teams in Perth and Brisbane, occasional input on studies and reports from our Toronto office, and coordination of work with our engineering office in Manila.

About the candidate





To be considered you need solid design experience on complex high-value electrical projects in the resources sector. ECG Engineering hire for the long term, not for projects, and successful candidates will have the opportunity to work across a range of ongoing minerals and metals projects as the Melbourne office develops.

Have a solid understanding of technical (E, I&C;) principles relating to the large industrial & complex operational assets that our clients own and operate.

- Relevant Electrical engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- Experience coordinating / driving specialised electrical teams on front-end greenfield and brownfield development projects with complex electrical scope
- Strong background in either Power Systems or Control Systems (or both)
- LV design experience (LV MCC design, protection & co-ordination studies) highly regarded
- Major project design experience throughout the design cycle
- Experience / exposure to project delivery, driving a job (not necessarily an entire project)
- Understand the project development process for juniors / mid-tier miners
- Provide specialised advice and guidance to clients
- The ability to contribute / influence in a meeting; exercises good judgment on how to contribute, and collaborative behaviour
