Surgical Veterinary Nurse (Full or Part Time)

Our Surgery Department is made up of 2 Specialist Surgeons and a team of 5 dedicated nurses. We pride ourselves on creating a positive, supportive environment where collaboration, learning and humour are all part of everyday life.

You'll Rotate Through a Variety Of Responsibilities, Including

n

n
- Anaesthesia nursing for surgical, imaging and emergency procedures
n
- Preparing patients for surgery, including clipping and surgical scrubbing
n
- Theatre nursing while maintaining strict aseptic technique
n
- Monitoring and caring for hospitalised surgical patients
n
- Surgical float nursing
n
- Assisting with specialist consultations and patient checks
n
- Coordinating patient handovers between departments
n
- Maintaining theatre equipment, sterile stores and high clinical standards
n
- Helping ensure a safe, clean and efficient hospital environment
n

We Are Looking For

n

n
- Passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and enjoys working in a fast-paced specialist environment.
n
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
n
- At least 3 years' experience in general practice, or 1+ year in a specialist referral hospital
n




- Experience or a solid interest in surgery and/or anaesthesia
n
- Excellent technical nursing skills, including:
n n
- Anaesthesia monitoring
n
- IV catheter placement
n
- Blood collection
n
- TPR monitoring
n
n
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
n
- A calm, organised approach in busy clinical situations
n
- A willingness to learn and embrace feedback
n
- A positive attitude and genuine passion for veterinary nursing
n

n

Participation in our 1 in 10 weekend on-call roster is required.
