Overview

Fujitsu is seeking a skilled VMware Engineer to join the on-site IT Infrastructure team in Sydney, Australia. The role supports and optimizes the virtual infrastructure that underpins critical business operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure stability, scalability, and high availability of the VMware environment.

Responsibilities
n
n
- Design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual machines.
n
- Configure and maintain VMware High Availability (HA), DRS clusters, and resource pools.
n
- Conduct performance tuning, system optimization, and capacity planning.
n
- Manage VM lifecycle tasks including provisioning, snapshots, templates, and cloning.
n
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure using vRealize, SolarWinds, or similar tools.
n
- Integrate VMware platforms with SAN/NAS storage and virtual network configurations.
n
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies using native and third-party tools.
n
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
n
- Maintain thorough documentation of systems, processes, and change management records.
n
- Provide expert support and consultation to internal IT and business stakeholders.

Requirements and Experience
n
n
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
n
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience managing VMware infrastructure.
n
- Proficient in VMware vSphere 6.x/7.x/8.x, vSAN, and VMware Cloud solutions.
n
- Strong background in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and core networking (DNS/DHCP).
n
- Scripting experience in PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.
n
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across virtual, storage, and network layers.
n
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
n
- VMware Certified Qualified (VCP-DCV) or higher.
n
- ITIL Foundation or Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE).
n
- Experience working within financial services or regulated IT environments.
n
- 3 Months contract.
n
