We're excited to welcome Registered Nurses to our Intensive Care Unit at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Birtinya.

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) is currently operating at up to 12 beds. There is further capacity for the ICU to expand when fully commissioned. The ICU provides specialist care for trauma, medical and surgical specialities for the SCHHS, with other services planned for the near future. The unit strives to offer a culture of education, learning and support within the multi-disciplinary team.

The Registered Nurse (RN) leads and delivers person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards of Practice.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 5 and the Queensland Public Service values.




- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.

Salary rates: $33.88 - $34.33 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5) (Fixed term temporary part time position available for three months, 40 hrs p.f.).
