Are you a Vet Nurse looking for your next challenge and have a passion for surgery?
n ARH is seeking an experienced and passionate Surgery Nurse to join our team on a full-time 12-month maternity leave contract.

n

The Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) is one of the most respected emergency and specialist veterinary hospitals in Brisbane. We offer a wide range of specialist services and provide 24-hour emergency and critical care to referring Veterinarians and the public. We provide the highest standard of nursing and patient care and we are seeking a qualified veterinary nurse to join our friendly, dynamic surgical team.

The successful candidate will be someone who;

n

n
- Wants to further their career in veterinary nursing
n
- Has completed a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Vet Tech Degree
n
- At least 3 years nursing experience within a busy GP clinic
n
- Experience within a Referral Hospital ideal
n
- Has a passion for surgery
n
- Is enthusiastic and honest
n
- Has high standards and attention to detail
n




- Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace
n
- Ability to work as part of a team, and also independently
n
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
n
- Knowledge of Rx works / Smart flow will be highly regarded (but not essential)
n

n

Duties and responsibilities include:

n

n
- Surgery patient treatments and care
n
- Patient recovery & monitoring
n
- IV catheter placement and fluid therapy
n
- Taking blood and using in-house lab equipment
n
- Cleaning and autoclaving of surgical instruments and specialised surgical equipment
n
- Specialist surgical and theatre nursing
n
- Anaesthesia
n
- Radiology (including CT & MRI imaging)
n

n

Training and support will be provided on an ongoing basis, with encouragement to grow surgical and anaesthesia skills with further education, which is financially supported.

n
