Mater Education has an exciting opportunity for a agile and experienced Vocational Education Teacher to join us in a casual capacity to deliver high‐quality accredited and non‐accredited health and clinical programs to diverse community groups. This position is based at our Townsville campus.

What you'll be doing

- Deliver effective teaching and learning within classroom, workplace, simulated and online learning environments.
n
- Utilise flexible, blended and inclusive learning techniques responsive to various cohorts.
n
- Contribute to developing and evaluating teaching and learning resources, assessment tools and processes that meet industry skills standards.
n
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality of training and assessment.
n
- Ensure that students adopt and practise accepted safety procedures and sustainability in the learning and assessment environment.
n
- Contribute to the evaluation and review of educational programmes.
n
- Participate in relevant professional learning activities.
n
- Undertake general administration duties including marking and students' attendance.
n
- Represent Mater Education at expos and events as required.
n
n
About you
n
n
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM)
with a current APHRA registration.
n
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE), or TAE40116.
n
- Valid Working with Children Card (Blue Card).
n
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to other locations as required.
n
- Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed (strongly desirable for accredited programmes).
n
- Strong background in health or clinical education.
n
- Excellent communication skills and passion for lifelong learning.
n
- Demonstrated understanding of the VET sector and experience working within an RTO environment (preferable).
n
- Detailed understanding of the relevant profession and accreditation requirements.
n
- Strong adherence to policies, procedures and industry requirements.
n
- Ability to work well with peer educators and as part of a team.
n
