Position Type: Contract 3 months with potential to review at end of term
About the Role
Our client manages a family-focused group of boutique early learning centres committed to delivering outstanding education and care. Their purpose-built centre in the Wyong area of the Central Coast, NSW is seeking a passionate, experienced child care professional to step into a key leadership role on a contract basis, guiding the service and ensuring its continued success.
As the Centre Director, you will take overall leadership responsibility for the day-to-day operations, educational direction, compliance, and community engagement of this mid-sized service. You will work closely with the broader management team, educators, and families to foster a warm, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
Overseeing daily service operations, administration, and regulatory compliance under the National Quality Framework (NQF)
Leading, mentoring, and supporting educators to deliver high-quality programs and reflective practice
Guiding the implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and supporting curriculum planning and documentation
Maintaining high standards of supervision, health, safety, and child protection
Building positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and the local community
Supporting strong enrolments and active community engagement initiatives
Managing staffing rosters, professional development, and performance expectations
Participating in continuous improvement and quality-assurance processes
About You
You will be an approachable, motivating, and resilient leader who thrives on working alongside educators, children, and families.
You will bring:
Previous leadership experience in early childhood education and care (e.g., as a Centre Director, Area Manager)
Strong, up-to-date knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard, and applicable Education and Care Services legislation
Sound administrative, financial, and organisational skills with high attention to detail
A cooperative, solutions-focused management style with excellent communication skills
A genuine commitment to providing safe, inclusive, and enriching experiences for every child
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
Applicants must hold:
An approved early childhood teaching qualification (Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood or equivalent) or an approved Diploma-level qualification
A current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Current HLTAID012 first aid training (including anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management)
Current approved child protection training and up-to-date refresher requirements
Current Child Safe Foundations Course 1, 2, 3, 4
Appropriate food safety certification and Responsible Person training
Safe Sleep training
Police Clearance less than 3 months old
Applicants must also:
Be available to work across Monday to Friday according to operational requirements
Hold no current prohibition notices or restrictions preventing work in education and care services
Provide details for two recent professional referees
Be able to safely perform the inherent physical and operational requirements of the role
