What You'll Be Doing

n

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will bridge the gap between aerodynamic concepts and manufacturable reality. The work is hands‐on, high‐precision, and wide-ranging.

- Lead Mechanical Design: Take ownership of complex machinery, thermal management systems, and flight‐critical structures from concept to detailed design.
n
- High‐Fidelity Modelling:



Utilise advanced 3D CAD to create functional, mass‐optimised assemblies.
n
- Simulation for Design: Use FEA and thermal analysis tools to validate your designs iteratively – integrating analysis into your design process to drive robust decision‐making.
n
- Design for Manufacture (DFM): Apply rigorous GD&T; to ensure components are manufactured to specification and cost targets.
n
- Prototype to Production: Manage the full lifecycle of the hardware, including BOM management and physical assembly integration.

What You Bring

n

Someone who is competent, reliable, and comfortable owning their design decisions.

n

n
- Experience: 7+ years in mechanical product design, ideally within Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, or Precision Manufacturing environments.
n
- Technical Core: Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD is non‐negotiable. You model for function, mass, and assembly readiness.
n
- Propulsion DNA: Experience with rotating assemblies (turbines, pumps, motors) or high‐thermal environments is a distinct advantage.
n
- The "Nice to Have": Proficiency with FEA/CFD packages is highly valued as a tool to de‐risk your designs.
n
- Education: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
n
